SUMMARY

 

 

 

Purpose...

To service customers by thoroughly understanding and providing accurate product and pricing information, writing sales orders, processing bids, and following up on samples and deliveries.

Scope...

Responsible for growing and building sales with new and existing items, to new and existing accounts.

Required...

Possess the ability to develop and maintain new and existing customer relationships, increase account base, ability to grow sales revenue with existing and targeted accounts by 15% per year, and having strong customer relations skills. Requires an organized, efficient, and energetic individual who is able to handle a wide range of details and function in a fast-paced environment. Must be a team player with a positive attitude. Extensive knowledge of the Las Vegas distribution market and its customers is necessary.

 

DUTIES

Duties include but are not limited to:

 

Be a leader in projecting/applying the "Diamond Philosophy".

 

Work with other team members to build teamwork.

 

Develop new customers through personal sales calls.

 

Initiative and ability to generate your own leads as well as excellent follow-up on company furnished accounts.

 

Ability to initiate and control sales processes with new clients.

 

Provide guidance, assistance, and service to customers.

 

Follow through on commitments, internally and with customers.

 

Sell products at maximum profit margin with consideration given to current market pressures and sound understanding of a competitors' position.

 

Ability to negotiate contracts applying established company-pricing standards.

 

Ability to create, maintain and execute a successful territory sales plan.

 

Prepare quotes and complex bid responses.

 

Attend and actively participate in all sales meetings.

 

Communicate with and support administrative personnel in keeping customers within credit terms.

 

Understand and positively communicate all company policies and procedures (internal and external).

 

Monitor sales volumes, distribution margins, and related measurements (plan vs. actual).

 

Report and review all sales variances with corrective actions to the Sales  Manager once per week.

 

Make sales deliveries from your vehicle when required.

 

Utilize order and pricing guides.

 

Support daily push list and extra value items.

EDUCATION

 

Required...

Ideal candidates will have minimum of a High School degree or GED. Possess or obtain the knowledge, skills, and disciplines needed to carry out the functions assigned to the individual occupying this position.

EXPERIENCE

 

Required...

Las Vegas customer and market knowledge is mandatory. In addition, at least two years experience in fresh or frozen seafood, or general food service distribution, with successful inside and/or outside sales experience that provided varying challenges and workloads. Excellent communication, presentation, and customer service skills. Prior experience in seafood, meat, or poultry sales is a major plus. Basic computer skills are required. Knowledge of Windows, Word, Excel, and A/S400 desired (will provide some training if needed).
