SUMMARY

 

 

 

Purpose.........

To oversee all operations of processing and distribution

Scope............

Plan and direct strategies to maintain a competitive edge for the company

 

 

Required........

Must be highly motivated, decisive, confident, open and candid with the ability to energize others.  Ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex documents, as well as a strong sense of urgency and personal commitment to the company.  Possess strong communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with multiple levels of personnel.

 

DUTIES

 

Typical...........

Duties include but not limited to:

Be a role model in projecting and applying The Pacific Group Diamond Philosophy (Productivity, Quality, Excellence and Teamwork) and promote teamwork at all times

Direct and manage all plant operations with overall responsibilities for production, maintenance, quality and other production-related activities

 

Develop and control profits, plans, and budget for the efficient use of materials, machines and employees

 

Manages capital asset maintenance

 

Establish and monitor overall plant performance for production and quality standards

 

Control and minimize labor overtime, premium freight and repair expenses

 

Implement and maintain preventative maintenance programs

 

Incorporate shop floor organization and plant cleanliness among plant personnel

Coordinates production, distribution, and warehousing in accordance with principles, policies, and procedures established by the company and all regulatory agencies

Ensure tools and resources are readily available

Assistance with the coordination of company safety policies to eliminate unsafe behaviors and accomplish zero injury goals

Ability to perform effectively within budgetary guidelines

Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints

Ensure that all personnel comply with Federal, State and company safety rules and regulations through periodic inspections of plant machinery, equipment, personnel activities and working conditions

Purchase 75% of all products

Clear orders & invoice and receive all products

Ride along with drivers / salespeople

Meet with customers / vendors

Weekly Management meetings

 

Inventory control – balance both fresh & frozen

 

Perform other duties, as assigned

EDUCATION

 

Required........

Bachelor's degree in related field or five years plant/general management experience in a processing/distribution environment.  Must be proficient with AS/400.

EXPERIENCE

 

Required........

Has a working knowledge of budgets and financials statements.  A background with manufacturing methods, process improvement programs and procedures required.

 

WORKING CONDITIONS

Usual.............

Typical office and warehouse environment.  Utilizes PC and other standard office equipment.  Moderate travel may be required.

Special...........

Must be able to handle stress and communicate effectively. 

 

 

Usual.............

Sitting, standing, walking, kneeling, reaching, writing, computer, reading and phone usage.
