Maintenance Position

Purpose.........

To oversee all maintenance, repair and upkeep of all buildings, tools and equipment.

 

Scope............

Responsible for providing preventative maintenance including a safe and sanitary environment to the plant and surrounding grounds.

 

Required........

Must have a proactive, positive attitude, pay strong attention to detail, able to follow directions and be a team player.  Will be a role model in projecting the “Diamond Philosophy” and facilitate teamwork. Possess skills in refrigeration, equipment maintenance, basic electrical and carpentry, with the ability to read and understand work orders and instruction manuals in English and the ability to maintain written record of completed assignments in English.  Must have knowledge of methods, tools and equipment.  Will have advanced knowledge of mechanical and electrical practices.  Be familiar with machinery components and the basics of ammonia refrigeration.

 

DUTIES

 

Typical...........

Duties include but not limited to:

Be a role model in projecting and applying The Pacific Group Diamond Philosophy (Productivity, Quality, Excellence and Teamwork) and promote teamwork at all times

Daily walk-through

 

Repair items as needed

 

Be on call, as needed

 

Install new equipment

 

Equipment maintenance and repair problems with follow-up

 

Refrigeration maintenance and repair

 

Perform minor plumbing and electrical work

 

Learn set-up, operation, adjustments and operating parameters of production equipment

 

Develop open communication with machine operators, department supervisors and managers

 

Bring production equipment to a good operating standard

 

Formulate preliminary plan to facilitate implementing a preventative maintenance schedule for production equipment, which will minimize breakdowns and increase productivity

 

Repair equipment when breakdowns occur to maintain production

 

Improve work order system and develop a return to service , i.e. production certification

 

Develop working relationship with outside vendors to become familiar with their activities and necessity

 

Develop long-term goal to reduce our reliance on outside vendors and reduce costs

 

Build spare parts stock for normal wear items

 

Paint any necessary areas, as needed

  

Develop alternating schedule for weekend emergency response, 4-6 people. IT room, refrigeration, alarms, etc

 

Outside training as necessary to repair and maintain existing and new equipment

 

Work on new installation projects including cost analysis and estimated time to complete. (i.e. ozone water installation)

 

Remedy any unsafe conditions ASAP. Safety must be first priority

Repair aesthetic defects i.e. seals, hinges, hangers, etc. when production maintenance and breakdowns allow

 

Reconfigure electrical and water drops to improve esthetics, efficiency and safety

 

Work with outside vendors whenever possible to become familiar with operating system

 

Develop a preventative maintenance plan for facility, i.e. dock plates, doors, seals, etc.

 

Develop a daily walk thru routine to spot possible problems

           

Build spare parts stock for normal wear items

 

Work with outside vendors whenever possible to become familiar with systems and troubleshooting procedures

 

Outside training

Develop a preventative maintenance plan to be implemented as a long-term goal

EDUCATION

 

Required........

High School diploma or GED.  Should possess or should obtain the knowledge, skills, and disciplines needed to carry out the functions assigned to the individual occupying this position. 

EXPERIENCE

 

Required........

Two years of experience with technical trade skills such as refrigeration maintenance, forklift maintenance, basic carpentry, plumbing, painting, and machine repair.  Will have knowledge of occupational hazards and general safety practices.
