Purpose.........
|
To
prepare applications/submissions to the various governmental agencies
for new permits and renewals related to the fishery/aquaculture field. |
|
Scope............
|
Responsible
for management and operations, including processing and tracking of all
permits and certifications. |
|
Required........
|
The
position requires ability to learn all codes, regulations, and laws
pertaining to fishery/aquaculture related projects. This
includes in-depth knowledge of the permitting process steps and special
policies, practices, technicalities, and work methods. Requires
sufficient human relations skill to communicate standard yet technical
information, to employ specific lines of inquiry, and to resolve
problems. Requires the ability to learn, interpret and apply
processes, codes, regulations and laws governing fishery/aquaculture
related projects. Requires the ability to work as contributing
member of a team, work productively and cooperatively with other teams
and convey a positive image of the Company. Must have the ability
to organize and prioritize work assignments and work well in a team
environment. |

Duties
include but not limited to: Be
a role model in projecting and applying The Pacific Group Diamond
Philosophy (Productivity, Quality, Excellence and Teamwork) and promote
teamwork at all times Coordinates
comprehensive background research of permit applications to include
identification and review of relevant federal, state, or local
statutes/regulations. Schedules
and coordinates meetings with interested parties to give and receive
relevant information on permit applications. Functions
as point of contact for matters regarding the permitting of
fishery/aquaculture permits for the company. Tracks
the progress of permit applications for the purpose of reporting status
to all interested parties and entities. Coordinates
the collection of relevant data on permit applications. Prepares
responses to inquiries from governmental agencies, and other parties
regarding permits and permitting activities. Evaluates
and formulates procedures to facilitate timely resolution on permit
applications and for the resolution of disputes and appeal processes. Handles
calls from governmental agencies, provides explanations of
fishery/aquaculture projects. Analyzes
the permit processes and timelines and suggests ways to enhance
efficiency. Explains
the permit process to others, including the applicable codes and
regulations governing development, the sequence of activities in the
permit approval process, and the timelines to expect for key decisions
and final approval. Performs
other duties, as assigned, that support the overall objective of the
position. |
EDUCATION
|
|
|
Required........
|
Completion
of a Master’s degree in an Environmental/Natural Science, Fisheries,
Engineering or related field. Should possess or should obtain the
knowledge, skills, and disciplines needed to carry out the functions
assigned to the individual occupying this position. |
EXPERIENCE
|
|
|
Required........
|
At
least one year experience working in the seafood industry.
Requires the ability to operate a personal computer and peripheral
office equipment. Requires knowledge and skill of using
personal computers, common office productivity software and databases to
access and enter information. Requires sufficient knowledge of and
skill in English grammar and composition, for the preparation of
applications and proposals. |
